Just found out that my mum has been diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of her going into hospital with fluid on the lung.
She’s 89 is she likely to receive treatment?
Hi H93 welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that news about your mum.
I can imagine that a lot depends on how fit and healthy she is as she will need to be to undergo possible both gruelling surgery and treatment if that is required? It is also dependant on what stage the Lung Cancer is at what if any treatment will be offered.
The other things that could be discussed with your mum is if she wishes to have any treatment that is offered or not?
Are you able to speak to someone on the ward about your mums possible way forward or not? That may be worth a try whilst mum is in hospital. xxxx
