I posted a few weeks ago about Mum having issues since her Hysterectomy with her tummy, bowel movements and gradually getting worse to the point she couldn't keep anything down. Yesterday she ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration.

We finally  have some answers but its not good new, they have found more cancer some near her kidney and some near her bowel, she is also suffering from a blockage in her bowel which explains most of the pain.

She has already battled cancer twice once being in her oesophagus and the second being on her ovaries both leading to major operations. Now my friends say she's so strong she's done it twice she can do it again, but that's where i worry, how much trauma can your body go through before enough is enough and also how much more emotional stress and pain can mum put up with until she gives up.

This time im scared, angry, i feel like cancer wont stop until it takes her.

  • Hi

So sorry to hear about your mum sometimes it does seem life is just out to get some people and it can feel so unfair.

Many people find "cancer" a really difficult conversation and can hope that sending positive words like "strong" can be helpful. Perhaps the most common words on the carers forum are "I have to be strong". Some people say to my wife she is "brave". Glad you found us here - we know how isolating those words can feel.

On here we find friends who get it - if we look through Talking about cancer even if only by text is can be a bit easier. I have been very open in my workplace and indeed have done an article for mental health awareness week and the wonder is that people have felt the ability to come forward and talk about their struggles too - the first step to getting help is often the hardest but (mostly) people do honestly want the best for others.

    <<hugs>>
