My poor husband is suffering and I don't feel i can do or say anything to help .

Any advice is appreciated

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that your sister-in-law has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia and I can understand what a difficult time this must be for the family.

I haven't been in your position but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies. By replying to you it will 'bump' the post back to the top of the page where hopefully someone who has been in your situation will see it and come forward to tell you how they coped.

In the meantime you might want to take a look through this information from Macmillan on emotional support for family members.

If you know what type of leukaemia your sister-in-law has then you might like to join one of the cancer groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who have the same type of cancer, or who have a family member or friend with it. If this is something that you feel would help then click here to look through the groups.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your sister-in-law's journey so far into your profile, eg what type of leukaemia she has, as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending a supportive ((hug))
