We were informed in April that my husbands cancer has spread to liver and lungs and he had 2 to 4 months. He has been put on cabozanantinib which they say if successful will give him more time. Since taking Cabozantinib he is in less pain and he feels the kidney tumour has shrunk. Apart from this he has lost a lot of weight, his energy is low and he is hardly eating or drinking. I can’t be sure what are side effects from the treatment and what is due to the cancer. Although the family are really supportive I feel very alone. Has anyone any experience of Cabozantinib and it’s side effects and effectiveness?
Hi ,
sorry to hear about your husband and the issues he has been having. My wife's cancer is totally different as were her chemotherapy drugs but some of the issues you raise are fairly common across all kinds of treatment.
It might help to post this in our Kidney cancer forum since there may well be people there who have direct experience that they may be able to share.
I can very much relate to your issues with feeling lonely though and sometimes it can be difficult to find support among family, unless we are living the life it can be very difficult to understand and sometimes people find it difficult to discuss cancer. Do post here whenever you need as someone will always be here and indeed sharing tends to help everyone.
<<hugs>>
Steve
