Hi I’m new to this group. My dad was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung and bone cancer back in January. I just wanted to know how others experiences with the help has been as so far my poor mum and dad have received little of any help/support. Drs have been pretty useless and all the excuse seems to be is because of Covid. I’m sorry I find that so wrong. My dad is suffering just like other needs to be more help in my eyes for them.
Hi and welcome to the community.
Your story does sound not unfamiliar in that a lot of resources have been diverted to support covid and of course quite a number of NHS staff end up self isolating at some point.
The good news, slowly is that many services are returning to something more normal so fingers crossed they many some progress with your dad. It might be worth talking to your fathers GP to see if he can get some traction on what will happen well and if that fails sometimes it can be helpful to talk to the hospital PALS service.

Yeah , we have noticed that it’s got a little better , just feels like my mum is having to do a lot of the chasing around which I feel is so unfair on her. She’s getting no sleep bless her as my dad doesn’t have very good nights with his breathing , we as children do as much as we can but often they don’t talk to us. Just feel like there should be someone who can keep them updated and do the chasing for her as it’s such a hard time for her.
But thank you for your response hopefully it will get better
