Hello
Our father died in August from a brain tumour which turned me and my twin sister totally upside down. Never new such pain until this moment. Then 4 months later our step father Was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had the flow test but then unfortunately lockdown began.... the doctor said ‘sorry but it’s going to be much advanced now as it’s going to take a long long time before we can get the results and see you’ indeed it has and it’s getting worse. He’s opted for the radiation seeds if and when this can happen. ...... once again trying to help and keep another father alive within a year, would love to know anyone that has been through the seed option to see if this is really the best option.
thanks Charlotte
Hi , sorry to hear your step dad has prostrate cancer so soon after losing your dad.
Often prostrate cancer is fairly slow growing, so much so that often treatment is "watch and wait" but from what you have written it seems things might be further along for your stepdad. In terms of what is the best option things vary so much that it is not really possible to comment on a single case, it might perhaps help to look at our page on Treatment for prostate cancer and it might also be useful to discuss this on our prostrate cancer group where people with experience of this type of cancer may be able to share their experiences.
<<hugs>>
Steve
