My first post on here, as I'm at a loss and feeling so scared. Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in Febuary after a rough ride with mammograms. She has since had a lumpectomy, but this was unsuccessful and didn't come back with clear margins and the devastation news that its spread to the lymph nodes. They said that with Covid scans/ops will be delayed but, she luckily got a very prompt appointment for CT scan. I'm so scared for results and worried about mom and dads finanical situation due to Covid as they are both not working. I was hoping to help with funds but I am working on the frontline and could put mom at such risk if she needs treatment. I also could potentially move out but I want to be there to support mom as much as possible. I'm worried about every aspect of this and the given situation of Covid even more scared and I know mom is too. Im at a loss and I don't really know what I expect from response. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

  • Hi and welcome to the club we wish nobody ever wanted to join. It does seem covid came at just about the worst time for your mum but hopefully as you say your mum had mammograms it will have been picked up early so even if there is a delay that will not be a significant issue.

Have your parents been furloughed under the government job protection scheme or do they qualify for the self-employed support? If they are that might be some help.

There is a old saying of a trouble shared is a troubled halved and many say just reaching out to others can be a real help so do post whenever you feel the need, there is always someone here looking and we will always do our best to help.

    <<hugs>>
