Hello there

my father in law was diagnosed with lymphoma last month. He has had just one course of chemo and antibody treatment. He is due his next treatment this week. He is in a lot of pain though and I wanted to ask if this is ‘normal’ - is it the chemo taking effect? Sorry if that sounds like a silly question - this is all new to us. Thanks x

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that your father-in-law is in a lot of pain following his treatment.

You haven't said which type of lymphoma he has but could I suggest that you join and also post this question in the appropriate group as you should then benefit from the experiences of others with this type of cancer.

The various lymphoma groups here are:

    Follicular lymphoma

    Hodgkin lymphoma

    Mantle cell lymphoma

    Non-Hodgkin lymphoma

    Small lymphocytic lymphoma

    T-cell lymphomas

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

Has your father-in-law spoken to his CNS and explained the pain that he is in as they should be able to give him something to help?

When you have a minute it would be useful if could pop something about your father-in-law's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending a supportive ((hug))
