looking for advice my boyfriend has a brain tumour and this is his third one and he’s always been absolutely amazing and kind hearted but for the past 5/6 months he’s been awful to me and my little girl for instance he will just be sitting there and the smallest thing will send him into a rage the other day he said to my 9 year old daughter look I don’t like you, love you or having any feelings for you or your mum and she burst out crying he laughed and called a taxi and left, in the past 6months he has said many things like that and then left we’re on number 14 now then he will disappear back to his mums block me off every social media then in 5 days time say he can’t remeber nothing he did but he’s sorry and it won’t happen again..... is anyone else been through anything similar and what did you do to help I’m not sure if he’s depressed and maybe may need to see a docotor im confused I understand mood swings etc with having cancer but the nasty things that he says I don’t any advice would be great xx

  • Hi @chrisc31, I am so sorry to read this and of course it is simple to say it is not him it is the cancer but that is not really going to help your situation and it is totally outside my realm of experience.

It might help you to talk to one of the expert staff on our helpline 0808 808 0000 it is open 7 days as week 8am-8pm and landlines and mobiles its a free call.

Does you daughters school know about the cancer too? They should be able to offer support to her and if she asks questions there they will be able to answer her questions sympathetically.

    <<hugs>>
