I see a lot of people mentioning their 'team'. What is a team?
Does anyone get much support from their GP.
I'm asking because the only person I have contact is my Oncologist.
Hi Den64 sorry to hear this……. the word ‘Team’ can be ever so different depending on your type of cancer, your treatments and indeed your health board…… in my case I had no CNS (Cancer Nurse Specialist) for the first 14 years of my 25 years journey.
So ‘my teams’…… I have had various departments for my various cancer treatments

Same with us. My hubby originally had 4 nurse specialists assigned when under urology 15 yrs ago but nobody since he was transferred to Oncology. Just his oncologist who is impossible to contact for questions outside of reviews. Our GP hasn't a clue. The nurse at our Macmillan centre was very helpful and supportive re his upcoming chemo although has no specialist knowledge of his specific cancer.
Chocaholic 28 Thank-you for your reply. It's good to know that I'm not alone in this.
So sorry to read about your awful experiences and further diagnosis. I hope you manage to find support other than your oncologist to help you deal with all the trauma. Best wishes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
