How are you all coping with getting told stage 4 treatable not curable then going into remission i am finding it difficult still having treatment for at least a year I think its more mental health now then physical

  • Hi  looking back at your posts I have a completely different type of cancer.

I was diagnosed with my first type of very rare incurable Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1999 and relapsed multiply times over the first 14 years with the longest remission being 9 month months….. the shortest being 3 months before I had to have more treatment.

Then in late 2013 a second also rare aggressive type of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma appeared taking me to stage 4.

I am now 9+ years out from my last treatment and living a great life. Yes my first type of Lymphoma is asleep at the moment so I am not going to be going to kiss a princess……. but my aim is not to allow the what ifs? to define my life….. I define how I live.

It is all about winning the battle between the ears ((hugs))

  • Thank you for your reply  it is very encouraging sometimes you just over think things

  • Hi, also in the stage 4 club ( didn't think I would be in that one). Thyroid cancer migrated to bones in various places .You are quite right mental health plays a big part now. Diagnosed just over a year now and still having those thoughts of how long have I got. It's a real rollercoaster in the mind.

    1. It really is i do have a few good days where I feel really good and feel treatment is working then on bad days I think what happens when consultant decides to stop the treatment and it comes back mine is just under the year but glad I am in remission oh Marty sounds really painful
