Since Friday I have been on Creon 50,000 yesterday was so painful and smelly.Today it's been a bit better having small meals, plenty of water etc etc.but my main issue is the offensive smelling gas and the extent of it which is causing problems with my daughter critising the smell and how the house is smelling and it's all she can smell.I have cried so many times about this today tried everything to keep smell at bay.Tried explaining the reason why I take it but still she complains. Please tell me this does settle down.she is pushing me emotionally into stopping them.I am already in a hell of alot of pain with the liver and pancreatic cancer I don't know what to do.HELP

  • Hi  sorry to hear about the challenges you are dealing with and the effect it is having within the family.

I have no experience with this treatment so let’s see if anyone can give you first hand advice.

But to widen your search for answers I would recommend you also post your text in the dedicated cancer groups that cover your cancer….. Liver cancer and Pancreatic cancer support groups as there may well be someone with first hand experience of this problem.

I would also refine d you talk this through with your Specialist Cancer Nurse/Key Worker.

The Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and support all the family.
