Hi

I’m a single parent to an extremely vibrant and boisterous 3 year old. Dad is not on the scene so no break for me from the whirlwind of toddler hood. I have breast cancer and have just started Chemo, 12 cycles weekly Paclitaxel. It’s day 3 now and I have full body aches, extreme fatigue, muscle weakness and stomach cramps. I’m struggling to even think most of the time. Any tips on how to deal with these symptoms and a 3 year old full time??

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I don't have the experience you're looking for and hope that you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this in the breast cancer for the under-50s group and also the main breast cancer group as that way you'll connect directly with others who are having Paclitaxel for breast cancer.

There's a good chance that there'll be people in the groups who also had to cope with the demands of motherhood at the same time as having treatment. Do you have any friends or family who could help out from time to time?

It would be great if you could pop something about your  diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending a big (((hug)))
