Yesterday I had my preoperative checkup.
All being well it’s surgery Monday.
I have printed out how to do sheets for my wife because I have done most things since she had a stroke 14 years ago.
Washing machine, Microwave, Tumble dryer and Boiler controls all documented.
My tummy looks like a poor Banksy attempt with blue targets drawn by my Stoma nurse.
So fingers crossed I will have a bag to help me with my 8 months of diarrhoea.. I
Chromeplated.
Fingers all crossed for your operation on Monday. It sounds like you've been juggling many things Chromeplated with the horrible constant diarrhoea (made worse by the treatments I guess too), worry over the diagnosis itself I guess and being the main carer for you wife. You're obviously being very organised by writing instructions for all the things you do normally. Will your wife have some support while you're in hospital and perhaps for a while after you're back home recouperating? You will need supporting too after a big op. I have a nephew who ended up with a colostomy after his bowel died and it changed his, or rather, saved his life but he certainly took a while to recover. I'm sure it will ease a large part of your life but remember to take care of yourself.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
