  • Hi and welcome to this little corner of the Mac Community.

Navigating the cancer journey can be challenging and when we get our diagnosis our brains go into overdrive and it becomes very hard to control the noise between our ears but its good that you have joined the Community as this is a good place to unpack that invisible rucksack you were given on diagnosis.

From the point of diagnosis we load up this invisible rucksack with ALL the stuff that you are told and treatment experiences you have and along with this 'life' goes in there as well..... so we store up our stress and anxiety........... then we start to get weighed down by the load we carry day in and day out.......... and we just get tired and worn out resulting in more stress and anxiety.

If we don't intervene we will get burned out so we must break the cycle.

This is what these groups can do - help us step away.

The Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 or via web chat. This service provides cancer information, emotional support, benefits and financial guidance or just a listening ear.

Talking to people face to face can indeed help a lot but during these strange times it’s not that available but do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area has opened up. Do also check out for a local Maggie's Centre in your area.

Always around if you need further help or just to chat.

    All the very best ((hugs))
