Was watching a cartoon earlier on emotions - joy, fear, disgust, anger n sadness. It mentions core memories n how u can access them to deal with current stuff

( assuming they're positive ones of course)

Although a cartoon, it had a very powerful message to convey about how we can be influenced by past experiences - for better or worse

Conjure up some good core memories to help u today.

  • Hi FloralWoman,

I found this a really interesting concept. I think there’s some truth in trying to crowd out bad thoughts with good ones, and if you can tap into some good memories, I can see how that can definitely help.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

  • How are u doing? Are you enjoying finding all those lovely memories? It's such a lovely idea. Thanks for posting it fl0ralW0man. I find being in the present a little tricky, so mindfulness is hard to practice sometimes. Remembering past loveliness is so warming. 2 weeks to my op. Trying not to think about it at all!!!! I'm pretty scared to be honest and struggling not to panic. I'm most worried about immediate after recovery and what that will mean for me. There is so much unknown about the state of my abdomen at the moment. I'm worried about pain relief and getting up and about asap. I'm still finding hot flushes and night sweats really difficult to deal with at home, how on earth will I cope in a hospital bed? I'll find out soon enough I suppose. Like always, I will just have to get on with it and be grateful for all the little things, as well as the big ones. Hope everyone is ok-ish today xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Hi Sparky2, i

I Iike the idea of being grateful for the little things as well as the big things  We tend to focus in life on the big things n yet it's often the little things that slip under the rug iof  life and go unrecognised.

Fear of the unknown is the worst thing. Once we know what we're facing, we find the strength to deal with it.
