My 79 year old mum has just been started on this treatment for advanced bladder cancer . As palliative care , hopefully buying her more time . She is fit and healthy for her age , or was until her cancer was discovered during an operation to remove a large kidney stone in Jan this year . But had no symptoms , was out doing her allotments and enjoying a busy social life .
She had her first doses on Thursday . Within a few hours of getting home it floored her . She has been so weak she can barely get out of her bed , no appetite , confused . Generally feeling terrible,  Is this normal ?
we were expecting some fatigue but this is far worse than I imagined

  • Hello ,

I'm sorry to hear that your Mum has reacted badly to her first chemo dose.

Whren she started on this she should have been given some contact details for the chemo treatment unit to use in the event of any problems and I think you should get in touch with them to ask if they can do something aboout her adverse reaction. If you can't find any contact details, just 'phone them to ask.

I hoope you can get this sorted quickly.

Made in 1956. Tested to destruction.
