Hello, not sure if this is the sort of thing supported here but if you cannot recommend a hairdresser who knows how to deal with chemo hair and would come home in North London please let me know
Hello Zoumbou
i am Brian, one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I haven't had chemotherapy (and I have a Number 2 cut anyway!) however by me replying your post will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope replied to by other members of the group.
I wish you well with your chemotherapy and hope you do get your hair sorted.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Zoumbou
My hospital had a hairdresser and wig lady connected to the cancer unit. She used to come every Wednesday pm. I wonder if it would be worth asking your CNS/chemo unit if they have one connected.

I did scalp cooling during my chemo so did not lose all my hair but I had a fair amount of shedding. The chemo curls and dry brittle hair did settle within a few months- with lots of gentle care and leave in conditioner. I stayed with my own hairdresser throughout and she managed to do regular cuts as it all grew back. My hair looked a lot better within 6 months and felt more normal again within a year.

Dear Jane,
thank you so much for the links and advice. I have already contacted a charity Hair reborn and got some useful advice but I will have a look at these links as well. I am just at the beginning of this and was not concentrating on the hair at all... but it will not be ignored apparently. Thank you again and all the best. Zoumbou
