Anybody heard where shielding people stand after June 11th?
i started on 23/3 so my 12 weeks finish on 13/6. I will still be on chemo till 16/7 but can my family start to social distance and not shield?
Hi Kimbo,
I had a letter from my NHS hospital trust (Cambridge University Hospitals) dated 11 May saying, ‘The Government is currently advising people to shield until 30th June and is regularly monitoring this position’.
Best wishes, Nell xxx
Hi Jules-100, unfortunately this looks like the way it will going with each case being reviewed on an individual 'at risk' bases and the inital 12 week timeframe was only the starting point.
Up in Scotland, only yesterday we were told that the shielding will get a general review in a 'few' weeks so nothing has changed
Is the UK in the position to take shielding away? for me it's not so care will have to be taken with those who are more vulnerable due to type of cancer, ongoing treatments and other underlying health conditions.
((hugs))
