Hello
My wife and I would like to know how to gain any leaflets or literature to try and aid us with this scenario above.
Unfortunately our wonderful daughter (41) has just been given this secondary diagnosis news from her consultant.
Clearly we are upset and was hoping there maybe some information available on how we can try and deal with this and whilst hopefully supporting her, we also need to try and support her lovely husband and our amazing two grandchildren.
Any directives would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike,
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informativ and supportive.
I am Steve one of our community chapions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma.
There is quite a lot of information on secondary breast cancer on our main site here and is available in leaftet/PDF from here
Something I find quite helpful is your emotions when someone has cancer as being able to recognize these emotions and accet them as normal and valid can help to make them less overwhelming.
We also have quite a good guide on talking to children and teenagers. We were really happy with the support our sons school provided to him.
You would also be welcome to post in Secondary breast cancer forum where people with more direct experience will be able to share with you.
<<hugs>>
Steve
