Good afternoon. My husband has heart disease and has also been treated [chemo and radiotherapy] for lung cancer. Following an echocardiogram and also a CT scan for a 3 month lung check-up both tests showed excess fluid in the right lung. He will have a lung aspiration procedure this Tuesday. Can anyone help me please with information regarding this procedure and also how long recovery from this intrusion may take. Thanking you all so very much in advance. Zebra
Hello Steve, Peter had the lung aspiration procedure this afternoon. All went really very well - the consultant allowed me to stay in the operating room. What a fascinating experience!! My husband said he felt no pain - and I can confirm that he didn't wince even once. Just waiting now for the analysis on the fluid - to see its origins and also if any lung cancer cells have returned. Thank you for your reassurance about the procedure.
