My father in law is being diagnosed currently; we know it’s cancer but there’s no treatment plan in place as they can’t find the primary. It’s taking a while (7 weeks so far which I guess is normal?) and palliative treatment has been mentioned by the hospital consultant but barely anything put in place.
The GP don’t really seem to be doing anything and my FIL’s symptoms seem to be progressing. There’s no follow up and they’ve just referred us to A&E. Our lead nurse isn’t available very often to talk to although we are chasing daily for the next stage of diagnosis (liver biopsy.)
He’s sleeping loads, barely eating, jaundiced (they are looking into liver) and says he can’t sleep in his bed because both of his sides hurt.
Any advice on how to get someone to assess his overall wellbeing and hopefully recommend some care would be so appreciated. Thank you
