Dad died this afternoon

I guess I just wanted to share this, as I'm still in disbelief. Dad's deterioration came rapidly in the last few weeks, but despite knowing what was coming, it's a huge shock. We visited him in the hospice this morning and he was asleep the whole time. We'd been home an hour, when the hospice called us. We missed his last breath by minutes, but I think that's something he wanted to spare us. He's been an enormous part of my life for 59 years, and we were very close. I don't know how I'll go on, but I know I will.

please accept my condolences for you loss, you must be heartbroken. No amount of knowing what’s coming makes it easier, it just hurts in different ways I think.

Hi, im sending you sympathy and condolances. With time you learn to accept whats happened , you dont get over it, you live with it. Its lovely memories that hopefully help. I hope you have support. Xc

When my late wife passed, the best advice I got was "Don't waste your life wondering how you will live without her. Live your life with all the love she left behind."
