My partner has recently been diagnosed with a tumour in one of his testicles. The consultant advised that it is likely to be cancer. He has an operation booked in for next week to remove the testicle. They are unable to do a biopsy but instead have to remove it. They can’t do tests until after the tumour has been removed.
have we had a diagnosis of cancer? I’m feeling confused in his diagnosis.
Please help me in how to process this and how I can support my partner to get through this.
Hi Poi
Welcome to our community though sorry to hear about your partner.
Clearly there is something going on with the testicle and as you say the consultant thinks it likely to be cancer as he recommended removal then whatever it is cancer or not everyone will be sure.
Uncertainty though is never easy and I found the pages on your feelings when someone has cancer really quite helpful with being able to recognize the emotions and accept them as normal I found helped make them less overwhelming.
There is a lot of information on the main site here that may help you both understand what happens next and be ready for any other questions that come your way.
<<hugs>>
Steve
