A little bit of background.
Recently my wife has been moved onto stage 4 terminal cancer (LMS) and UCHL have said that there’s no more they can do as her cancer has spread despite having Doxorubicin.
She is now home, on pain relief patches and other meds, I’ve now quit work for whatever time she now has left (we don’t know how long and don’t want to).
She’s on PIP and registered disabled (blue badge)
I just want to ask, can I claim a carers allowance? And how long does it take to process?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Andy
Hi Andy
You can apply for carers allowance via https://www.gov.uk/carers-allowance/how-to-claim
You should get £81.90 per week
You might like to talk to a benefits adviser to check there is anything else to which your might be entitled.
<<hugs>>
Steve
