Terminal secondary bowel cancer

Hi my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer dec 29th , he's started chemo and it's starting to make him look bad.

He lives on his own , likes his own bed etc, I offer todos things for him but he says no ill do it.

I'm struggling with the fact he's got cancer and scared

    Sorry to hear about your dad, chemotherapy can be very difficult but the oncology team would not do it unless they thought it would have a positive impact. It sounds like your dad is very independent and that can be a good thing if he can manage. It might be helpful to consider a needs assessment to see if there is any help he is entitled to - sometimes having someone independent look at the situation can be helpful. 

    As for you - if we look at your feelings when someone has cancer we can see how normal you are. I was quite slow in getting some help myself but so glad I did. The plus of being able to recognize the emotions I am feeling can help make them less overwhelming and knowing there are people out there in a similar place can help us feel less lonely.
