My mother is in her late 70s with various cancers and I am not wiping her bum properly after helping her on the commode. I am 52 (Male), so spare me no blushes as Mum is complaining I am lacking in skill. She also has a drain on her bile duct that often comes loose. she has wiped my bum so I am determined to do it well.
Hi SonofMUM
Sorry to hear about your mum and great respect for you in wanting to help. I wonder if it might help you to either post this in our Ask a Nurse group or phone the helpline here since there will be people there who have direct experience that I lack.
The only thing that would immediately spring to my mind from by baby changing days would be around the use of wet wipes but unsure how they works with the drain.
<<hugs>>
Steve
