Big day tomorrow for the oncologist to piece together all the snippets of info partner has heard from various clinicians

Can't pretend I'm feeling brave especially as have to travel to the hospital on my own as partner is having transport from the hospital he's in.

On a positive is walking with crutches after hip op, quite well but stiff/tired afterwards. Pain control ok and palliative nurses involved and will liaise re things needed at home. Trying to relax today.

  • Hi

One thing more likely than anything to rile me wife is when someone says she is brave - I tend to leave the room at that point as she is likely to lash out a bit.

When I talk about Janice and our journey together people ask how do we cope - perhaps the best answer we can give is when were we given a choice. Then apparently I am inspirational but I will say not really - practical, pragmatic, in touch with reality - perhaps.

What matters most to me though is knowing whatever we are going through we have people we can relate to - people with lived experience who help each other - and that perhaps is the most important point of all.

Hope tomorrow answers some of the questions and you find out the next step as we all take if one step at a time.

    <<hugs>>

  • Oncologist appt was scary. We know he has a serious aggressive illness but we both thinking the worst. It will be a long hard rd but they have moved him from orthopaedic ward to the specialist cancer hospital to start immunology and radiotherapy on the mouth growth. Still need to be strong but you grab onto any bit of hope and know he's in the right place. Kind thoughts to everyone who's having a tough time
