Hi
I’m caring for my dad, who is terminal and very stoic. I’m really proud of him and how he manages all he has to living alone.
He’s told me he’s struggling with the shower and bath (he has a shower over his bath) - which really means he can’t get in it anymore, due to the pain and exhaustion.
As his daughter he won’t want me washing him - can anyone advise how to handle this situation please? I want to help him maintain his dignity but not sure how to go about it.
Thank you for any advice
Hi PetGarden
Sorry to hear about your dad. Perhaps the best option in this instance is to contact his local authority to get a needs assessment for him - they should provide this and it will look at what his needs are
<<hugs>>
Steve
