Hi everyone. My partner is in hospital with leukemia. Because of Covid he can get an exemption for one visitor per day (we're in Australia).
I've only been able to see him once because his parents have travelled and need to see him too. It's been hard not talking to the one person you can talk to about anything while going through this.
Today is my day to go up and I threw up this morning. I've been staying away from people, wearing a mask when I do need to leave and relentlessly washing my hands. Remembering to eat and trying to stay healthy.
I think this is from stress. I've felt physically nauseous since I found out.
There's no "am I healthy" test you can take before going in. I just wanted to reach out and ask if anyone else has experienced physical symptoms simple from the stress of it or if this is normal?
Thanks.
Hi ,
Sorry to read about your partner and also the impact it has been having on you. Assuming your temperature is normal then it is totally possible that stress brought on the nausea. Add in the worries about covid and that is a fine cocktail for making anyone ill.
You might find some of the tips in our resources for managing stress helpful. I know at one point I was especially challenged at work and my doctor prescribed eco-therapy - and it really helped.
<<hugs>>
Steve
