Hi Deesam welcome to the forum and so very sorry that you have not had a response as yet. Im wondering if anything has been set up for you yet or are you still in the same situation.

If you are still in the same situation the best thing to do is to give the GP a call and the District Nurse should be able to come out and check that you are ok with doing this and that you feel confident doing this and also offer any support to help you in the caring role. Im surprised that you havent had the offer of aftercare at home but it is unfair to leave you to do this without at least a point of contact should you feel unwell or unable to manage and placing a huge ammount of responsibility on you and that's not ok.

Please pick up the phone if nothing is in place and get the GP to mobilise services for you and your dad. xxxx

Hi Deesam.  If you are still struggling, contact your dad's dietician at the hospital or just ring the feed company direct and ask them for the number of the support team.  It is the feed company who support you at home.  We went through this with my husband last year.  And because of Covid the hospital discharged him too soon, bordering on an inappropriate discharge, but we were in too much of a mess and too distressed to do anything about it at the time.  The GP wasn't interested, in fact I am still waiting for them to call me back about something from October 2020 and the district nurses were not doing home visits.  Not for this kind of thing anyway.  The number we were given from the hospital to ring if we had problems, which was the ward he had been on were not interested either.  The dietician had given us a follow up appointment, over the phone of course, couldn't see him due to Covid.  Think it would be fair to describe it as an interesting conversation, that did not go well for her.  However, she did arrange for the nurse from the feed company to come and visit us.  What a relief.  What a delightful lady she was.  So helpful and reassuring.  The NHS need to stop hiding behind Covid and start doing their jobs which is caring for patients, not hanging them out to dry
