Hello
I’m new to this forum. Would love to hear from others in a similar situation. My mum was diagnosed with secondary brain lymphoma yesterday. She has high grade NHL which started at the base of her tongue spread to her lungs, liver and spleen but she responded well to chemo and was left with one new nodule on her lung. Lately she has been doing really good.
However 10 days ago she started getting headaches, nausea and dizzy spells. A scan yesterday showed the cancer has spread to her brain. The whole family are devastated and it doesn’t sound like she ll get treatment other than steroids. I feel so anxious and can’t stop thinking about the near future. Watching her deteriorate day by day will be absolute torture
Hi ,
Sorry nobody got back to you more quickly as my situation is rather different to yours. It is my wife who has the cancer but hers is stable at the moment and has been that way for six years.
You are so right that watching a loved one get sicker and sicker is very difficult especially if we feel there is nothing that can be done. Certainly had that with both mum and dad for many years.
You might like to look at Looking after someone with cancer and we can see these sorts of feelings are very common.
<<hugs>>
Steve
