We're still waiting for my wife's "actual" diagnosis and treatment plan, and in the meantime she's spending most of her time asleep. I understand this is normal, but I'm worried about her loss of appetite. She's really not eating much compared to pre-diagnosis but she's drinking the usual gallons of tea. Although she's physically strong I want her to be in the best possible shape for the coming weeks/months, so can you tell me if this is a typical pattern and is there anything I should watch out for?
Hi Fenland_chap - my wife's cancer is very different to yours but when she was really ill she seemed to be surviving on ice water and she can normally drink tea for England.
The waiting for a treatment plan is always hard but it is very important. The plans are now very individual as the medics have learnt more and more about how to treat while causing less unwanted side effects. It might be worth giving your GP a call to help reassure you both about being in the best position going forwards.
When my wife came out of hospital after her hysterectomy they had loaded her up with fortisip drinks and then our GP loaded her up with complan too.
<<hugs>>

PS - like the user name - I was born in the RAF Hospital in Ely but like all forces children got bounced all over the UK.
Thanks Steve,
That's good to know. - we're talking to our GP on Monday so will bear this in mind. Crunch day is Wednesday...
Yes, I'm a Peterborough lad myself and visited Ely a lot. The cathedral was fascinating.
