My husband has recently been diagnosed with stage 1 cancer in his femur bone. He has to have an operation to remove part of this bone and replace it with plates etc. No treatment afterwards has been mentioned such as chemo etc. Has anyone here any advice for me please?
Hi and welcome to the community, though sorry to hear about your husband. I am no experience with bone cancer but if your look at Bone cancer forum there will be a lot of different experiences and you would be welcome to ask questions there.
Has your husband considered what might happen if chemotherapy or radiotherapy was to be recommended - he can always ask his oncology team what might happen after the operation but sometimes things can be quite overwhelming and we forget to ask the questions we want - sometimes it helps to write them down and of course take a friend.
It is very likely even if not further treatment were considered necessary he will be followed up for some time.
It can be a really challenging time when a loved one has any cancer treatment, do you have some support too - well dome for coming here as one thing I had to learn was to look after myself so I am ready to help Janice - and sometimes that is hard too.
<<hugs>>
Steve
