I’ve recently discovered that it’s possible to claim PIP ( Personal Independence Payment) or Attendance Allowance if over state pension age. It was a quick and easy process ( a 15 min phone call plus support form from Macmillan nurse) and payment started two weeks later. It’s not means tested so potentially anyone could claim. Go to the DWP website or just ask Dr Google. Money can’t take away the pain but it sure as hell helps in a challenging situation!
