i have prostate, lymph, bladder, bowl and anal cancer. unfortunately i have a bad heart which can be restarted quite easily on small amounts of anaesthetic but is quite stubborn on larger amounts, has anyone had any cancer surgery or heard of anyone who has without anaesthetic. i have had some minor operations without, stung a bit, and have heard of alternatives which i know almost nothing about i ask this more in hope than expectation.
Morning Eddie,
The poor consultant probably felt very rushed. He did have a gleeful look as he got each polyp out showing me what he'd got – but then he had to go back in to retrieve yet another and finally just to check again overall, etc. Your course suggestions are good ones. I'm definitely going to look into that. Thank you!
Am so pleased you don't have dementia or need the MS tests. The lumbar puncture is painful, I'm told (flatmate had two – that and the cystoscopy are now his "never again" tests and he's very emphatic about that), but he didn't mind the colonoscopies (though said they were uncomfortable even with anaesthesia – he had a fair bit of anaesthesia as the bush baby eyes seemed to last a long time), of which he had six. Sadly, he does have dementia and much else besides.

Hi Rose, I'm unbelievably happy I don't have dementia or MS and as I have had a lumbar puncture before, wasn't keen on another one, your consultant seems a little weird, did you ask to see the polyp's or did he decide to show you them, I think I would have told him to just get on with it as quick as possible. I am sorry to hear about your flat mate, looks like he's having it tough as well, good to know he's got you for support and he has a life in the community.

Consultant invited me to look so I did and the polyp was there on the edge of something that looked rather barbaric – made me understand how you could get accidentally nicked! Think consultant was really passionate about his work and seemed very nice. I felt he did a good job. I saw the polyps again later but floating around in solution. Being prepared, I found it quite interesting to see them.

Evening Rose, your consultant seemed a lovely man, It's good when you have confidence in them it makes things so much easier, did he say when you should expect results, Rose I should have said I'm expecting my 8th grandchild tomorrow, have a lovely weekend
Eddie xx
Evening Eddie,
Eighth grandchild... That's super news, Eddie. All best wishes for a smooth delivery!
Regarding results, they are usually within a few weeks.
I don't know quite what to say about your weekend more generally because I saw you had some extremely difficult news this week. It's not appropriate for me to comment further about that on this thread, but feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like support (just bear in mind my own wider situation makes me an unreliable correspondent but also a very empathic one – if you went months and months without messaging it would be fine. My own daughter on shielding list. That's all I can say publicly.)
Rose xx
Thank you Rose, I will put in a friend request and please don't worry about not always being available, my health issues can mean I'm unable to post at times, Rose I'm not very good with computers if I'm unable to send a friend request It's because i can't not because I don't want to.
Eddie
Hi Eddie,
I thought I already did. I struggled myself though – it's not easy to do at all. There is a green connect button somewhere that I used to try. Will go and see if the request is pending or I messed up!! If I messed up will try and sort it tomorrow sometime. You take care Eddie. You got a big weekend.
Thinking of you all.
Rose xx
