Just popping in with chocolate to replace the mountain I ate last night, thanks for all the support.
plus a big pile of tissues for anyone else watching the C word. Surprisingly I have made it this far without tears.
We're on holiday 22nd to 28th august,i now have everything crossed that you're not away that week
What a lovely way to celebrate you're end of treatment, gives me a nice feeling when people i talk to on here are planning end of treatment treats,it's years since i was in wales & that was only passing through to catch the ferry to dublin
xx
Typical, we in Wales 22nd to 29th! We love Wales, my boys are into mountain biking so it is perfect, hubby will take them biking while I take littlies to the beach. We will also do some stuff together, my lads are so lovely with their little cousins. How old is the little one you will have over?
Night, night all,

Perhaps a cuppa in Matlock sometime Carol?
Hi All hope you have got the lovely sunshine we have this morning, after the gloom of the last few days its nice to have the sun back.
Hope all the celebrating went well Carol and glad you had a good time at the christening, I popped in late last night and enjoyed the fizz and christening cake Thank you.
Lynda, Hope you are feeling a bit better today and things look clearer, I watched the C word but missed the beginning, I thought it was well portrayed from her and her carers point of view, what did you think?
Jakki I understand you being grumpy with the chemo drugs, my hubby is a very quiet man but during the chemo he was unusually grumpy so don't worry and hope that phase is soon replaced with feeling much better soon. We are of to Caernarfon week after next for a little break, hoping to get up Snowdon on the train, the only way possible these days with hubby and my knees lol. But really looking forward to it.
Moomy, so glad "The whirlwind" arrived in Rio ok and hope she has a fantastic time. Hubby took the boys to Bletchley a couple of years ago they all really enjoyed it, think it was a Saturday, have you been working there long? Our oldest son has Aspergers and one of his special things was to recite pi to at least 100 places his mathematical brain helped him get a degree and masters in Physics so hoping one day he will be able to use it.
Hubby has picked up another chest infection, going for a dip in the murky canal while kayaking won't have helped and he is now signed off work for another month, the future still looks scary, as I look at him now he really doesn't look as well as I had hoped. Nothing I can put my finger on, maybe the chest infection and hopefully the antibiotics will help, but all the time in the back of my head is will the C come back so quickly, he wasn't well enough to have the post op chemo although the histology showed no cancer after the op. 1 day at a time and hopefully he will get stronger soon.
Take care my friends I have left some fresh coffee on the table and some of those dead fly biscuits that we all love, hope the bank holiday is a good day all round xxxx
Mm dead fly biscuits love them.
Hope the cloud lifts at the top of Snowdon for you the week after next, we climbed it a couple of years ago with the lads and it was very cloudy but an amazing walk up!
Wow remembering pi to 100 places, isn't it amazing how the human mind works? A 6 year old that we supported in the unit could play tunes by ear on the keyboard. You could name a familiar song/ rhyme and he would tinkle for a few minutes and then play it note perfect, he didn't like us to sing along though!
I think it will be tricky for any of us to be 100% confident that our cancer will never come back, I am hoping though to live every day to the full sounds like hubby is doing that too with the kayaking.
It's reassuring to hear that your hubby was also grumpy as I am usually a pretty upbeat person so the grumpy Sunday after chemo really throws me, is hubby back to normal mood-wise now?
Take care all and enjoy the sunshine
Love Jakki xx
Polar bear, I hope the clouds will part for you, the views from the summit of Snowdon are great! I too have climbed it, several routes and been lucky most times, but my favourite route is the classic horseshoe, Crib Goch, across the ridge, Snowdon and back by Llewedd. I know I'll never do it on foot again, now though.....too old and decrepit!
Yes, we most likely did the Bombe demo then, when your young man was visiting, I do remember a couple of bright lads on different days asking intelligent questions......been doing Saturdays for around 5 years now.
Carol, hope your day was wonderful, can't wait to hear how it went!
Jakki, I hope you have the sun still, we now have clouds.....hope the chemo grumps are lifting now, it's natural to feel like that, and getting steroid during the infusion probably doesn't help either!
just put on some more fresh coffee, think I had the last mug....
hugs to you all
xxxxx
Moomy
Hello all
Well isn't that flipping typical Jakki, our visitor isn't so little, she'll be 15 this year, she's a typical noisy, nosey teenager but easy to entertain & very free with the hugs, kisses & i love you nana,we'll be in Matlock on 21st May so if you're free a cuppa will be lovely
Talking of cuppas i got the big pot out & made a brew so help yourself,i'm having a slice of cake with mine
We had a lovely day, there's a bubble car museum near us so we had a look at that, think i might pay for him indoors to have a ride in one with tea & cake after for his birthday, from there we went to thorpe camp,a lovely ww2 museum with proper 40's cakes,i had vanilla crumble & him indoors had tomato soup cake which was lovely, from there a quick journey to woodhall spa were we spent a lovely couple of hours just ambling about hand in hand & found the most delightful tea rooms & a lovely vintage shop, had a picnic in the woods then as we didn't want to come home had a ride round & when we got to a junction or roundabout one of us said which way to go
I just have to tell you what our 4 year old in Matlock did the other day,she stood in the middle of the hospital waiting room, lifted her skirt up & shouted "mum i've got a wedgie, sort it out"
Hope all have had a good day
xx
Ooh pink lemonade, thanks Moomy.
Carol, I should be around 21st May if a cuppa fits with your Matlock plans? Sounds like you had a lovely day with him indoors today. Hubby and I did two small walks, one morning and one evening but I should be up for a bigger walk tomorrow.
I love how little ones just say it how it is, they are so funny. My little sis once asked mum how she knew the other driver's name was Arthur; hilariously being much older I knew my mum had called the other driver an arsehole!
I have a back and shoulder massage booked for tomorrow which I'm looking forward to.
Have left some frozen yoghurt in the freezer section, it really lifted my mood yesterday so thought you all might like a little taste today.
love Jakki xx
