Hello everyone,

the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx

  • Hi Moira,

It was so hot, it took several hours to properly cool down, wet flannel and standing in front of the fan with not a lot on (not a pretty sight!) but I'm ok now. I think a hot cafe and Earl Grey together with cakes sent my internal heat system and blood sugar a bit screwy!

Thank goodness for this lovely room to relax in!

So, the usual crowd of men's singles are through to the third round. Wonder if Andy Murray will be able to win again this year, or if Roger Federer will beat every record? And it seems we have more British ladies than usual too (though I really just watch for the men's singles!)

Was remembering that I watched Wimbledon last year in LA, with daughter on holiday with her friends, our host used to watch quietly early in the morning, with his coffee, I usually joined him. What a difference!

Brought in some blackberries, our thornless berry is fruiting well and I don't want to freeze them all.....

    Morning,

Thanks for the blackberries moomy, the faeries have whipped them up into a delicious smoothie with some other summer fruits :)  the air feels cooler today but pleasant, waiting for daughter to arrive, although not definite she will be coming.

This afternoon I'm helping with a craft activity at a teaparty for the local library, it is run by volunteers as the council wanted to close it due to the cutbacks.

The theme is Alice in Wonderland so lots of dressing up, white rabbits and teapots with dormice in them! Should be fun but will be exhausting as well

I'll be glad to creep back in here later

    Have a happy Saturday

    Xx

  • Hi everyone,

It was hot enough today, we must have talked to a goodly number of today's visitors (over 1,000) so were busy. Feet up, glass of chilled white wine (thank you faeries!) and will remain slumped in front of mindless tv here this evening!

Enjoy your wine and your rest you really deserve it. It was a bit cooler in Folkestone today but not as pleasant as promised. I do love the sunshine but the heat is so wearing. Hope everyone is ok xxxx

    Hi all,

Oh my,  being out with a lot of people is tiring!

Enjoyed the day though and daughter came too,

Feet up and TV on, peppermint tea

    Xxx

  • Mmmm, peppermint tea sounds refreshing, but I'm off to bed (or bags-y one of the sofas!)

    Night night

  • I'm all a-flop on the sofa, have worked my socks off (not that I was wearing any, haha!) picked lots more soft fruit (please help yourselves, Tay/loganberries and big blackberries), mowed the lawn, did 3 lots of washing, (all dry!) and watered the garden, plus gor rid of the broad bean stalks, saving the beans left for seed, and pulled up the canes, dug the bed over and put netting over it (we have neighbourhood cats who would delight in nothing more than to c**p in the freshly dug earth!) and replaced the sofa covers that got washed.

Phew! Please, faeries, make me some iced tea? (OK, I will do it, then, think faeries went out for a bit!)

    Join me, anyone?

  • It's so good to feel a little cooler!

We had rain which lasted most of the night, the garden must have breathed a sigh of relief!

Yoga has helped me sleep so well, do try it, Moira! I am going to do some over the summer, and definitely join again next term.

    Hi Moomy,

Sorry not posted over last few days, been recovering from the busy day with daughter!

Yes much cooler and fresher today and the garden has appreciated the rain, just got back from 6 monthly CT scan , got in quite quickly although the x-ray department was being refurbished.

Will hopefully get results next Tuesday at clinic.

Glad the yoga is helping you sleep. I found it too tiring so am sticking to walking and doing a bit more housework! Although I could do with a social activity, must check out the health walks in the area, will help me meet people and exercise!

For now I'll watch the tennis, any strawberries and cream left?

    Moira xx

  • Hi all,

Any news, Moira? Been thinking about you....

Hope all survived the storms last night, sad for parts of Cornwall who had so much rain that they were flooded out! But at least people were safe....

We might have had storms but it's still very humid here, we have the big bifold glass doors wide open and a fan blowing the air around, but it still feels stuffy.

Have left a pot of lovely, juicy blackberries from our garden (one plant, so much fruit!) for anyone who wishes to have with their ice cream.....

    Hugs xxx
