Hello everyone,

the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx

  • It's a bit quiet in here......hope you are all quiet just because you are all busy enjoying yourselves? Hope it's nothing more serious than that!

The wood burner is lit, although the glass doors are open to the garden, it's still a wee bit chilly, hence the fire,  the daffodils are dying off but the tulips will be a lovely show very soon, and the wallflowers are already beginning to open up, smelling beautiful.

Table is set ready for tea, scones and jam and clotted cream, whichever order you wish. Little chocolate fancies too... Help yourselves....

    Hugs to all xxx

It is quiet you are right. I have been out and about quite a bit and there has been a fair bit  of sadness going on on the main forums keeping me busy.

How naughty to tempt me with Scones jam and cream, my favourite in the world but as they are virtual I can enjoyxxxx

i will see you on the 26th and hopefully you , Lynda and Carol on the  17th September. It would be really nice if there was a big turnout for that ! Plenty of time to get cheap train tickets.

Love to everyone. I hope you are all doing nice things and keeping happy and healthy xxx

    Hi,

yes, I've been busy too, starting to get the garden into shape. I have a bank behind the house, then a lawn with what were once borders, then a terrace with what I think we're fruit and vegetable beds. So I have started by clearing and planting the bank. Still space for more plants and I have  a load of bark to put down. But I'll try and attach a photo. If anyone would like to lend a virtual hand it would be very welcome.

apart from that I go on holiday Sunday, so I need to sort out what I am packing.

that scone and coffee was very welcome, thank you .

  • Oo, Lynda, beautiful photos! You have found yourself a really lovely garden.

  • We just had one hefty thunderstorm, hope no little creatures/children were out, they'd get really soaked, hailstorm went on for quite some time. Our big puddle which gets it every time we have a lot of rain, is going down now but was quite big! A couple of years ago hubs and I dug a big pit, and filled with stones, and gravel and sharp sand before relaying the paving to create a soak away as it was bad, it works well, but we have clay subsoil so it does take time to drain.

    Hello all

I've just had a scone, very yummy it was too

Well can you believe it's over a year since you lovely people took me under your wings when i was so desperately unhappy & scared & such a lot has happened to us all in that time,we have been through so much together haven't we

I've been busy organising another fundraiser, getting fit for the colour dash & gardening, our poor garden got so neglected last year we've literally had to rip it all out & start again

Now please don't laugh but we had a very bad morning on Tuesday,we had planned a lay in before we went out but Polly had other ideas & for some reason decided to wee on the bed at 6am,not only was it on my side it was on my leg & i was not a happy bunny so we were up far too early for a day off & by 7 everything was off the bed,it & the quilt had been washed & fabreezed & the first load of washing was going round,i have no idea why she did it & she's been fine since,i told her if she does it again she'll be back in the kennel

    Hugs to all

    xx

  • Aww, Carol, I read about your naughty Polly on another group, she's not got a wee infection, has she? And not possible she's in kitten again, of course, as you had her 'done', so an odd occurrence.

A whole year? Wow, you've done amazingly well, and gained so much confidence! I'm so glad you joined this daft group.....it must be getting on for a year since we met?!

    Hugs to everyone....xxx

    Well I'm all packed.

Weather looks variable so I have all sorts of stuff I can wear in layers...from bikinis to jumpers.

I managed to get another couple of hours in the garden today. When I get back I still need to get more plants to finish the bank, along with bark for the second half. Then I can start on the beds around the lawn.

I also got all irritated with the tax man who has sent me the fourth wrong tax code in a row. They don't seem to understand the new rules on inherited annuities. Plus to begin with they wanted to tax me on bereavement allowance, despite it being a government benefit payable for only a year...so they really should know when it stops. Oh, and their online system hasn't been working for 4 days...so I have had to write to them.

Hope everyone has a good couple of weeks.

Hi Lynda, hope you have a lovely time.  Hopefully the jumpers will remain in the suitcase.  Your garden looks beautiful it will keep you busy.  I love the old concrete pot in tbe picture.

I have not done very much today.  The weather can't  make it's  mind up , bit if everything.

I have started getting tax forms I am afraid i am very ignorant when it comes to these things  i have always paid bills etc but not very clued up on tax or pensions.

my chest and sinus infection are on their way out I hope. One of my little furry friends has not left my side bless her.

Hoping weather is better tomorrow i have 8 bags of gravel to spread round the garden.

    Hope everyone is ok xxx
