Hello everyone,

the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx

  • Oh Carol, what are you like?

Hope you didn't make that nasty cold worse?

Hope you and Lynda are beginning to feel better, though I know from experience it takes time....

Daughter has topped everything off with sinusitis. Managed to get some antibiotic, but that still hasn't sorted her chest, we are still waiting for the preferred antiviral and indeed, for the second choice!

Just hope she feels well enough for this weekends work, as if she doesn't work, there's no money.

I feel as if I've spent most of this week with her trying to sort out prescriptions and then getting hold of the meds! Wish she didn't have throat and swallowing problems!

    Hugs to all xxx

Still feeling grotty and can't string 2 words together without coughing. Sorry your daughter is struggling with it Moomy, so frustrating when you can't get hold of necessary meds.

Bought this today, step one to deciding whether to put my Christmas tree up. The boys want me to, I'm not sure if I can. I might ask my daughter in law to come and do it with me, or maybe do it on my own and just l t the memories and tears come. What do you think?

ok. I was going to add a picture, but don't have the picture icon in the old or new editor.

  • Bless you, Lynda, I know that cough......to be honest, still have a bit of mine ( begin in November) but feeling ok with it now.

About the tree, I know it is hard, I've not bothered with ours yet ( and am not on my own) maybe think of a different way of doing it which is all yours alone? Let the tears come if that's the best for you ( but take care of the cough ) and have a big box of tissues and bin by your side!

    Big hugs, lovey

Sorry your daughter's not feeling too good Moomy, hope she's feeling better & up to her weekends work

Lynda i hope you're soon recovered,i think i'd have to do the tree on my own, that way you can smile or weep without fear of upsetting anybody else

I don't feel too bad,so far i've not had a cough & the nose is much improved,my throat is still sore & by the time i leave work i'm very tired, think i got away lightly

The girls have had an early night, they'd been running round like something demented & i'm sure Medusa was trying to kill Willow at one point then all of a sudden all 3 of them just lay down & started nodding off so i thought right the noisy buggers can go to bed & the quiet one can come out,Medusa even tried to pinch my tea tonight & as Vince had cooked i wasn't sharing

Been to see mum & dad today & take dad some sweets to ease his dry mouth,he's now losing his hair,it was quit upsetting to see him like that as he's always had such a lovely head of curly hair,i guess his beard will be he next thing to go,going to have a look on Guy Martins site later & see if i can get him a nice hat as a Christmas present

I've finally got some Christmas cards but can't muster up the enthusiasm to write in them & i've not even started shopping yet,i'm feeling very bah humbug this year & will be pleased when it's all over

How is everybody else,i do hope you're all as well as can be

    Love & hugs to all

    Hi All,

Sorry everyone is feeling rough. I have had a sore throat and ears for two weeks too. Nothing major, just annoying, think there must be lots of viruses going around.

Lynda, the tree question is a tricky one; you could get all the stuff out and see how you feel then, ask your daughter- in- law or just do it and let the memories come? Whatever you decide hope it is ok. No tree for us this year as we are skiing for Christmas and at my sister's for New Year.

I am in Hemel at the moment with my nephews as it is littlest's birthday party tomorrow so am planning on eating lots of cake and winning pass the parcel! We made Lightning McQueen cakes today with flags in, have left a few on the table for you all to try.

    Have a lovely weekend

Hello everyone, had a busy week and work is getting a little difficult.

Sorry there are lots of you not feeling too good. Hope you all feel better soon.  Wd have so far avoided this one, although we did have it very bad when it came round a couple of months ago.

It seems the kittens are the only ones with any energy!!

Hope you have a lovely birthday on Sunday Jakki, and pass the parcel is not too strenuous!

Hope your daughter makes a speedy recovery Moomy.

Hi Lynda, we didn't  do our tree last year as we thought it might be our last together and just couldn't face  it so do we say the same this year?  Every year there would be a reason or excuse, you are a very strong and determined lady, you have had to be, so you will make your decision and it will be the right one for you.

Lots of love to everyone, hope we all get a good nights sleep xxx,

    Hi All,

Re; the Tree, Yes I had the same thoughts. But then last year Den and I bought a small potted live tree, that Den said we could keep in the pot and bring it in again next year. But that was Den, I couldn't see a next year, but she could, and I wasn't going to burst her bubble so I agreed.

On that basis, I have brought the tree in, dressed it, with Owls, Den just loved Owls, so I know she would approve. Have to say though, if we hadn't brought that tree, then I very much doubt that I would have bothered. But I am glad I did, as that was what Den wanted. Maybe she knew there wasn't a Next Year, but wanted me to have one. That's probably nearer the mark.

But go where your heart takes you, there is no right or wrong, and wherever your heart takes you, will be right.

    All the best

    Ian

Carol;  "packing all under control" might be... Over-exagerating  my level of preparedness  thus far!; I plan on laying out some neatly folded clothes, this weekend, on the spare bed! - I've already located and checked  my passport, I've submitted my 'Advanced passenger information' to BA, so that is done, I've booked assistance with BA, and checked how to book assistance with the airport (though not yet done that), and, I've a letter from my GP to let me carry my emergency injectible hydrocortisone! - I've submitted scripts to get extra tablets, etc, to take with me... so... sort of prepared some bits!  - Must sort out currency  at some point, and also print out my tickekt etc, but no rush yet!

It was the purple dress the other night to the pub!; was cold though, so skipped just the fur, and instead wore the red beaded jackekt, with a leather coat over the top! - I'm a huge fan of my leggings though so had to wear them!

moomy - hope your daughter's feeling better soon, sinus problems are rotten.... And, Linda, Carol and anyone else with these colds/viruses at the moment, hope they're clearing off... Touch wood I've escaped it all so far; maybe  my flue jab and the other vaccination I got are helping...

Running out of energy early here today, too... Not sure why, as I've done very little all day long! =- Mind, I think I spent way too long in the bath, and with it so hot, I've probably gone half hypoglycemic as a result! - off to find supper here and brew some more tea

Hugs to anyone in need of a cuddle/hug
