Hello everyone,

the title says it all, this is a thread for everyone at any and all hours of day and night, to post, help, laugh, cry and anything in between. There will be no nasty posts, everyone who joins in will be gentle, considerate and kind to everyone else. Hugs to all......xxx

  • Oh Carol, your cats are so funny, make me grin every time.

We are all coughing and spluttering and sneezing, all four have this bug! Daughter has gone off on the train, having had a very long sleep, and feeling better for it, she's already on antibiotics......she has a friend staying the night who will drive her into clinic for her 6 monthly check tomorrow, then she will catch the train back here. She's got work the other side of the weekend in London again, this time for the Music awards, handy!

She managed a long recording day yesterday really well, and it was an excellent fee. She feels bad either end of the day but otherwise coping very well. Me, I am still slightly deaf and cannot taste much, sinuses still a bit tough but not painful any more, thank goodness. Son is on steroids and an inhaler, he says, and off work. hubs is feeling rough too.....is there anyone who hasn't got/had/coming down with it? To be honest if it weren't so rotten I'd be laughing!

    Hugs to all

Sorry to hear you're all suffering Moomy,as you know i had it when dad started chemo,Vince had it just befor me & we thought on monday he was going down with it again, thankfully he didn't

The feral kids are at it again,we let them out when we got back home & it now sounds like a herd of elephants running up & down stairs & can hear pegs pinging as one of them is hanging off a curtain,we only have the stair ones up when it's cold as we're open plan & all the heat ends up on the landing so there's not much point putting up fancy curtain poles when string & pegs will make do (my grandparents were excellent tutors when it came to make do & mend) Polly is now joining in,thank the lord it's almost teatime for them & time for our old man to come out & have his turn for fuss & play time

    xx

  • Hahaha, Carol, isn't it funny that your kittens are so noisy on their feet, cats are usually so quiet?!

I bet you laugh loads, must help driving out cold bugs!

    Hugs xxx

Ps, a big jug of hot lemon and honey is on the side, with a few bottles of whatever you fancy to add, together with some warm baby sausage rolls,.....help yourselves xxx

    Hello all

Well it would appear one of my slippers is poorly & needs to go to the vet,i got up this morning to find it in the cat basket, all 3 girls had such sweet innocent faces it's hard to know which one did it,i have my suspicions but can't say for sure, they decided this morning they didn't want to go in the bathroom so we left them unattended with the run of the house, came home to find all 3 fast asleep in various chairs in the room & all looking so sweet & innocent, they're now all in the bath while we have tea then they can come out for a play befor bedtime

Been to a Christmas market at one of the towns near us,weather was very windy so most of the stalls were in the church,it was really lovely & yes we did buy cakes & for a change i actually won prizes on the tombola stalls, hope tomorrows craft fayre is as good & we all make a few quid

How is everybody today,i hope those that have had this horrible cold etc that's going round are feeling better now & that all are as well as they can be

    Love & hugs

    xx

  • I think it's really funny that the kitties end up in the bath, Carol! As for your slipper needing the vet, hmm, I didn't realise slippers were alive anyway, hehe!

Beginning to feel more myself, after two and a half weeks of this, I can smell and taste again ( trouble is, am now hungry!!!)

left some tasty M&S mulled wine, together with some satsumas (got to try to help you all to eat healthily, hehe!)

    hugs xxx

Yes, I have a lovely picture in my mind of little kitties in the bath.

i am going down with the cold now, it was doing the rounds in Budapest.

the roads are badly flooded round here today. My son and daughter in law couldn't get to work, and my way up meet tomorrow has been cancelled.

so I am curled up indoors catching up on masterchef.

My sympathies Lynda I have just been looking at the news and Keswick and Cockermouth are badly affected. Keep yourself safe and warm.

The kittens sound so cute and very naughty. They are obviously keeping you on your toes

I hope everyone with colds and other ailments are ok. Keep warm inside, the weather outside is dreadful. We have got lots of wind, the trees in our garden are all over the place.

Hope you stay safe and warm Lynda and the your cold doesnt linger, it is a nasty one.  The dr who came to see Mick said there is the cold bug and a virus which seem to attack together which is why it takes hold and doesnt want to clear up.

Those little kitties are very naughty, but they give you many laughs each day, bless them.

Glad you are feeling a little better Moomy, and hope ypur daughter is doing ok.

It has been so windy here, so haven't  done very much today,  well apart from housework, washing, cooking ironing....

Lots of love to all xxx

  • Oh Lynda, my commiserations, it is such a nasty bug! I hope your wee place stays safe, warm and dry. Dreadful storms up your way......

hope all of you stay indoors, away from the awful wind (outside wind, that it!)

i made a Nigel Slater recipe tonight, there's some left over, do help yourselves, (and the onions are good for the cold!) it's red onions, slowly slowly softened, then straightforward tiny chipolatas cooked gently, till beginning to go golden, then a spoonful of cranberry sauce, finish with orange zest. Serve with mashed potatoes ( I also had some caulifower) yummy!

I am feeling better all the time now that the sinusitis is going at last, head is clearer and I can taste and smell once again!

Daughter is doing ok (phew!) and they will treat if needed, but are pleased that so far, regular immunoglobulin is helping her fight this off.

    Hugs to you all xxx

The little feral savages sleep in the bath, well Polly sleeps in the bath or on the toilet,Willow mostly sleeps in the bath but today she went in the basket for some reason & to be honest you never know where Medusa will sleep,we put them all in the bath together so we can get out the door without anybody escaping, mostly we laugh at them but sometimes we despair

Bless you Lynda coming home with this rotten cold, hope you'll soon be better

Pleased you're feeling better Moomy, hope all the family will soon be fit & well again

The wind here is flipping terrible tonight, brothers lady friend lives on the isle of man & they've had floods & really bad weather, poor girl almost missed her brothers funeral as flights in& out were delayed or cancelled,my brother should have been going over today but his flight was cancelled,he's hopeing to go tomorrow but Dawn is still in Dublin & can't get a flight home till 4pm tomorrow so they won't get much time together this weekend

I've put some cakes on the side that we got from the Christmas market today, the chocolate & guiness cupcakes are rather nice

    xx
