Is it reflexology Keith, I have a friend who does it, never had it myself but she tells me it can be beneficial.

Had my transfusion, now tired so home for a nap,

Glad you had a great time moomy and Carol

    Hi All, and Moomy

Re the Dynamo Tunnels at Dover. This is an English Heritage Site, you will find that both wheelchairs and Scooters can be borrowed, if you ring them up before. Also carers will get free access.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Ian.

That's  good but do you know if the Fan Bay National Trust tunnels are wheelchair friendly? They are newly excavated so I'm unsure but then NT are usually very good like English Heritage

    Hi Keith,

No not wheelchair friendly, there are 125 steps done, and a walk along a cliff path. Where i think the wheelchair user, will have to put a lot of faith in the pusher.

    Regards

    Helloooo one & all

I totally agree with you Keith about tour guides, the best ones are the enthusiasts & not the ones that just real off what the official training jargen, that's one of the reasons we like the battle of britain memorial at conningsby, they love what they're doing

Well what an adventure we had today,we built sandcastles, had a picnic, did a spot of shell collecting, rockpool dipping, paddling in the sea & kite flying & it was all done in the pouring rain,we eventually got out of the rain & had a cuppa in the pier then when it fined up had a wander round the joke shop, had a lovely fish & chip tea & guess what, just as we were coming home the sun came out,Vince & i (how posh are we) went to watch the boys play football, brother against brother so who did Aunty Carol support, one in the first half & the other one in the second half & both had big hugs & a well done when they came off the pitch

Pleased you got your blood sorted Gillian & hope you feel better for a little sleep

Hope all are well & have had better weather than us

    xx

  • Aww, Carol, that sounds lovely, in spite of the weather, they say it's no such thing as bad weather, it's the wrong clothes! (Knickers?!) I loved rock pooling with my kids when they were young!

i wanted to get into town (it's a mile) and as last night's rain seemed to have stopped I decided to walk. Now, being English I suspected the weather, just as well I did, halfway there I had to button up the thin mac and put up the brolly I carry in my handbag! Did what I wanted and then chickened out and caught the bus back! Bus pass = happy moomy!

Wanted to clear some of the dying veggies from the garden, especially after the battering they'd had from wind and rain, got out there, did a bit.....yup, more rain! Heck, is this really summer?

    Hey ho......

    hugs to you all xxx

ps, thanks for the Dover tunnels info about wheelchairs, hubs does self propell but not over many steep gradients, he's not that fit! I guess we will just do what we can, if ever we make it there again. We are both NT and Eng Heritage members, so don't worry about entrance fees there.

    Hi Gillian,

It turned out it was Reiki and not reflexology after all and Rosemary enjoyed it but it couldn't have been that great as I didn't hear anymore about it for the rest of the day!

All being well she's doing pottery at the hospice next week so place your orders now. I've maybe got the terminology wrong again and it's probably Wedgewood rather than Royal Doulton

It sounds as if the Reiki had the desired effect and she was chilled after xx Will be interested to see the result of the pottery. Xx

Well, hall finished, kitchen finished! I need to touch up one bit in the lounge when I can get the curtain rail down. Then that's everything done. Still no sign of son to do ceilings so I might tackle the bedroom one Saturday and see if I can do it. I've had quotes from two plumbers now for bathroom, cloakroom and central heating. I may be mad but I think I am going to go with the more expensive one: I had more confidence in him when we were discussing what I wanted done, and he measured and wrote everything down He was recommended by a way up friend who used him to do her central heating He is about 30% more expensive, although I think he has included a more expensive and better boiler. Rest day tomorrow as I have to wait here for a parcel.
  • Hey, Lynda, so glad you're having a rest day! You make me feel lazy!!!!!

    Take it easy!

    Hugs to everyone xxx
