Oh Gillian, I hope you can have the day at home on Friday......the weather looks a bit better later in the week, according to this morning's forecasts, so hopefully you will get sun....
I met Carol, I met Carol! What a lovely, lovely lady you are, Carol, and thank you so much for the flowers, you really didn't need to! Vince is lovely too.....wish i could have spent more time, but maybe another day.....I will try to post a photo but the site doesn't like my photos till they have been on my computer for a week or so. Will try!
Hugs to all xxx

That's a lovely picture of the two of you together.
I have managed one coat on the hall walls. It took me 5 hours as they are so high. Hopefully just one more coat will be enough.
I'm still waiting for my son to do some ceilings....no sign of him for 2 weeks. If he doesn't come round soon I will have to tackle them myself.
I also managed to take the ready made curtains back and change them as they wouldn't go on the curtain rail which was there. Plus I bought a multi photo frame for the dining room, and a mirror to go over the fireplace.
Gillian, hope you are ok after today's hospital visit.

Moomy,
I bet your tour is really fascinating and I will make it there one day. While I remember, do you know much about Bawdsey Manor? My distant cousin worked there in more modern times during the Cold War but I know it as the birth place of Chain Home. The Dover towers are still here. Have you visited Dover and the Operation Dynamo tunnels?
Keith
Hi Keith,
no, I'm not a BP tour guide, had learnt much of it but they have changed the tour a couple of times, and I haven't 'qualified'. Carol and Vince said they didn't want a proper tour but just preferred to wander, so that's what we did, but they didn't have too long there so I wandered with them, and we talked as we wandered! Yes, I did tell them quite a bit of course!
I've been to the Dover tunnels but I gather there are more opened recently so we need to go back. Trouble is, hubs now wouldn't be able to do all the walking, so unless it's wheelchair friendly he wouldn't be able to see them. No, I have only heard the name Bawdsey Manor.

In my experience the best tour guides are the ones who are enthusiastic and talk straight from the heart. So I reckon you are more than'qualified'. I see it with National Trust room guides all the time.
I explored the Dynamo tunnels last year with Sweetpea (9yrs old granddaughter no. 3) and we plan to see the new tunnels sometime soon, maybe half term. They are National Trust and are outside the castle under what was one of the shore batteries. Will look out for wheelchair access. We are also going to the final open day this Saturday of the archeologcal dig in Lyminge. It was a fair sized Saxon settlement and SP (Sweetpea) is enthusiastic. We often do a bit of roleplay for fun.
Rosemary and I are going to the hospice drop in this morning. She is having some, I don't know what, massaging feet thing but it's got a weird name.
Have a good day.
Keith
