Thanks Christine, several years ago i had 2 holidays with Shearings & found them very good, don't know how they work now but at that time they didn't charge a single room supplement & that was why i went with them, bet your house is full of noise again & lots of tales of adventures while they were away
xx
I can honestly say I never felt alone on holiday. The first day we spent in Salzburg and I hadn't really got to know anyone, so I was alone round the city for about 3 hours. But unreasonably proud of myself for finding some lunch, buying and ice cream and going on a river trip which I really enjoyed. The next day we stopped in Mondsee on our way to the boat. After a short guided tour we had a couple of hours on our own. As I walked down the street thinking about what to do for dinner 5 ladies from the tour called out to me from a pavement cafe, and asked me to join them. After that as I got to know even more people on the trip there was always someone to talk to.
some of the ladies had been on sea cruises alone and also said they had a good time.
i would suggest you came here for a few days Christine, but July and August are awful times to come to the Lakes, far too many people!
I need to go on a holiday like you did Lynda, I am not afraid to be on my own but would not like to be alone to make all arrangements. As long as there are others around I will always find someone to talk to.
The Buxton trip was to be a chance to meet others but also to relax in the spa and treatments I couldn't imagine a holiday like that alone whereas the river cruise and some of the organised holidays would be fine.
When there is a meet up in the Lake district I would be honoured to join xx
Titan were very good with that, with representatives at Heathrow helping people check in. Tour guide on the flight with us, and seeing us through from there. Noone helping me at Manchester though, but I don't mind doing it myself. Maybe look at Saga river cruises as well?
one other thought is the holiday I have booked through the lady on here to Turkey. Not escorted travel, but I am flying from Manchester, and we could fly together. Not sure if you would fancy that sort of thing though.
I I will try and think about accomodation somewhere in the Lakes, for September. But on the basis that people ring and book their own rooms. I guess I need to source somewhere reasonably priced, any idea what you think people would want to pay? Or of course I could pick the date and location, maybe Bowness as a base, mand people could source their won accomodation?
I did look at the holiday to Turkey and it looks wonderful. bit too costly for me this year.
There is a huge difference in B and B prices and I think your idea of choosing the venue and booking their own may be a good idea. Just need an idea how many would like to come and if anyone was willing to share. If you were able to find a nice venue and decide dates we could all check it out.
Hello all, hope you're well & have had a good day
Not such a busy day today so am nice & chilled ready for a day at work tomorrow :-)
Polly is a strange little thing, she decided at 2.30 this morning that one of the kittens needed to spend the night where it was born bu when they got up to get ready for work she'd taken it back home again, i'm sure there must have been a good reason for it
xx
Hello all
Maybe the kitten had been told "if you cannot play nicely I will move you back to where you came from "
Haha, good thinking, it must have been naughty kitten time!
Hope everyone is well today, it's grey here, again.....and this is summer!
Hugs xxx

Sorry you are sad Christine. Is there anything we can do to help cheer you.
I have my Aunt and Uncle coming for lunch. They are insisting on bringing lunch with them. I am not sorry as it happens as my blood pressure is low and I feel quite dizzy.
