Members of the Online Community have shared how helpful getting outside and walking has been for their mental health and wellbeing, even if it’s only a few steps around the garden or a few quiet moments in nature.

This thread is a space for anyone in the Online Community to share those moments. You’re welcome to:

  • Share when you’ve been for a walk or spent some time outside
  • Talk about how you were feeling before or after
  • Share encouraging thoughts or quotes
  • Post photos from your walk (while staying safe and not sharing identifying details)

There’s no pressure, targets, or competition. The idea is simply to encourage one another, share the small moments that help, and enjoy some of the wellbeing benefits that can come from fresh air, movement, and time spent outdoors.

  • Hi Linda. Millibob has sent me a link, but I don’t know what I looks like. It’s all a bit too complicated for me I’m afraid.

  • Hello Andy (

  • Hi I’m Brummie69.  I’ve recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer &

im going to have SABR the new shortened form of radiotherapy. I’m hoping I’ll still be able to go out on 8 mile walks with the various Rambling groups I’m in. Walking ysk s your mind off things & is so healthy.

  • Thanks Brian (Millibob) for your help.

  • I had a mitral heart valve repaired in November2024 & a kidney transplant in August 2026. My prostate cancer diagnosis is just another bridge to cross PrayPray

  • Oops obviously kidney transplant was August 2025. Unless I’m Dr Who!!!

  • Hi Millibob.l found it quite amusing what you told me about your Birmingham pal Dave & his mom shouting Dive Dive etc.

    Best wishes

  • Hello Andy (

I love you Brummies, I have always found everyone so friendly and even when I take the p*ss out of them for their accents they still talk to me.

Mind you I think the Mitchells and Butler dark mild helps!!

I will have your post regarding your Prostate Cancer moved from this thread to the Prostate Group where it will be seen and answered by others on the same or similar journey.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Millibob. I’m not quite sure how I can look at the Prostate Group replies. Could you let me know?

    Thanks. Brummie69.

  • Hello Andy (

I am just sorting out one of your posts and moving it to the Prostate Group - give me an hour and it should be there - in the meanwhile you can read anything on the prostate group by clicking on this link

    Prostate cancer forum

or the Prostate Group icon on your home page (click on the house top left and the icon is at the bottom of the page).

The site navigation does take some time to master it's complex nature.

    Best wishes - Brian.
