Members of the Online Community have shared how helpful getting outside and walking has been for their mental health and wellbeing, even if it’s only a few steps around the garden or a few quiet moments in nature.
This thread is a space for anyone in the Online Community to share those moments. You’re welcome to:
There’s no pressure, targets, or competition. The idea is simply to encourage one another, share the small moments that help, and enjoy some of the wellbeing benefits that can come from fresh air, movement, and time spent outdoors.
Looks fairly high up. Whereabouts did you walk?
It’s Ridgeway at Newport. It over looks the valley, but we didn’t have to walk up there. There’s a lovely cafe there as well.
In 2019 I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and admitted to the cancer ward in our local hospital. I started the journey, hair falling out, feeling sick etc. I was transferred to Kings College hospital, I was feeling very unwell. To cut a long story short doctors and medical staff decided I could be considered for a bone marrow transplant. An anonymous donor was found for me by the Anthony Nolan scheme.
After a set period of time I was allowed to ask the Anthony Nolan scheme to approach my donor to ask if I could contact him/her. My donor agreed and we are still in contact via email.
I tried to stay positive throughout my treatment, it was very hard at times but I came out of that very dark tunnel and focused on the light at the end of the tunnel
Hi Chelle, how do you keep Alfie cool? My four are struggling. I am not walking them at all.

Hi everyone
I hope you are able to keep cool and hydrated during this heat wave.
I just wanted to leave a quick note to say that Megan published a blog with some tips to help you stay cool.
we have a couple of cold mats which we have on rotation from the fridge to the sofa. The fan has been going 24 hours a day. We’ve also been giving him ice cubes. I put some in his water bowl and he likes to try and get them out, so I know he is getting a good drink. Our garden has no shade all day long so it’s been difficult keeping him in. X
Did anyone else have lightning where they were last night or this morning? I love thunderstorms and spent a good bit of the evening watching the lightning. We were treated to a magnificent show!
