I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Gill I have decided to go along with the surgery recommended at Guys Hospital.

Do you know if after surgery I can be offered an alternative medication to the horrible self administered blood thinning drug even if I have if I have to pay as as I felt all along the last time I was self harming myself

My best friend is in Thailand with his daughter at the moment, still on WhatsApp though.

Physio is going well. Down to one crutch out and about and zero crutches about the house

Morning all

I've been awake since 3:30 but made myself stay in bed and relax, I eventually got up just after 5:00.

My daughter got married on Saturday and we've got family visiting from up norf so we're very busy atm (one of my sisters is staying in our house but she's really laid back), the others are in hotels in Sandwich but we are having to entertain them!

Good news about your decision, as I'm sure the surgery offered at Guys will be your best move.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about blood thinning meds, so you'll be much better informed by mentioning your concerns to your team.

Morning Helen.

I'll bet you had a brilliant time at your daughter's wedding, but not great about losing out on essential kip, what with all your relatives down.

Here's an idea. As your northern family will be around, let them take the floor and do some entertaining as us northerners are pretty good at that! Just make sure you get some help as it's vital for your own wellbeing. I'm sure they'll understand and chip in to help out, so enjoy the company and maybe heave a sigh of relief when they clear off. Lol!

Hi Nick, I'm not sure we've talked before, but it's good to meet you, even under circumstances none of us would wish for, but best wishes for your surgery, as for your blood thinners you should talk to your team, and explain everything, I'm sure they'll be happy to help and have alternatives.
