Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • No apologies needed Gill.

i hope your snooze was a bit restful for you.  Dropping off at the wrong time isn’t always as recuperative….

  • Hi again Rose, and no, it's not but I just tried watching a film and my eyes are starting to feel really gritty so hoping I'm getting tired.

Tell you what though, the wind's really whipped up and rain's lashing against the window, so the racket outside might stop me from getting off. I love it!

Are you getting the same down south hon? xxx

  • I love the wind too! Always makes me feel alive.  I used to love going for long walks in it (rain not so much.).

its quite nicely windy down here and building up, but it looks like it’s a fair bit worse up your way

  • Yeah, it seems much stronger here but it's my kind of weather, not being a sun lover. I like being out in thunderstorms, but I'm a bit crackers that way. xxx

  • Ok, the rain has now started with avengeance!  I have a glass roof light window amd have had to turn the tv up to hear it….

  • Oh crikey! My one fear about high winds are they'll grab our roof tiles. They're almost 150 years old and the big slate ones. I dread to think of the cost of repairs! I can hear a steady drip now, and hope it's just rain bouncing on the garden table. I'm paranoid about leaks and the whole caboodle makes me yearn for a newer house.

I like the sound of your glass roof though, and hearing the rain against it. I'm usually mesmerised by water on glass, but my thoughts are back to leaks. Eeek!

  • There was a big storm here about. ?a month or more ago.  You know when you’re asleep and noises from the outside world intrudes? I gradually started thinking there’s a noise right by me that is too close…. Dripping right by the side of the bed I was lying….Coming through my ceiling light at a rate of knotsScream

fortunately I only needed 3 tiles replaced, but it still cost £250!  My house was built in the late 70s!

  • Ours was built in 1888, and the deeds make a great read. I do envy you though, as I doubt you're lumbered with ridiculously high ceilings like we are. Being a 5ft 1 inch shorthouse doesn't half make life difficult.

I'd have had a fit over your leak and you've now compounded my fears over repair costs! Just joking Rose, if it comes down to it, we'll just have to shell out.

Ok sweetie, it's almost 2 so I'm going to put ghost stories on YouTube to lull me off. If there is any storm damage I'll have to be on my mettle to get it sorted and being Easter Sunday will only add to any potential headaches. Serves me right for being a bad weather fan but hey ho.

I'll get off now lovely, and nice chatting to you again. Night love, and sleep well when you do xxx

  • I’ve just come to say night night….idid wonder after I’d posted my last msg whether it was not a good time to say it!

my last house was 1870 and had a wonderful handcwritten book of the deeds.

by the wat, I’m nearly 5’2”….my curls help me get there.  Sleep tight x
