Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hello Sarah

Wow that's your 6th anniversary - as far as I understand it it's either Iron (for strength) or Sweets (for love) or Wood (for stability) - I know -  American and English!!

However I think you fit them all, you are strong to get through what you have been through - you are very loving and helpful on the Community and stable, and you stick to your guns.

So here's to you from me - have a great 6th anniversary - I know I have had my bad times but yours have been much worse - so sod the calories - you celebrate girl.

Best wishes to you Sarah and your partner - Brian xx

  • Thanks Sarah, that's just what I need to hear.

Starting chemo next week so let battle begin! I've been pottering around at home, sorted my sewing box (been meaning to do it for ages) and sending to my house plants that definitely also need some TLC. I'm a primary school teacher so life has changed quite dramatically in the last week! Missing all my little faces!!

I do believe in humour in difficult times (once over the shock) and think I have a good one too! It will definitely be put to the test that's for sure!! Hopefully,it will help me on good days.

Thanks very much for your encouragement.  I really have found this group really helpful.
