Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Awww Gilly, I don't believe that for a second, even though I have no idea who Zelda, from Terrorhawks is, and thankfully I'm not as young as I feel, as I feel about 80yo, I wear my long distance glasses when looking in the mirror, perfect skin and 4lbs lighter, still grey and bald though, have lots of hats lol xx
Lol! Without my specs on my focus is blurry, so softens the harsh reality of looking in the mirror somewhat. I was thinking of getting a builder in, to knock a large hole in the bathroom wall. That would enable me to back off far enough till my mirror image becomes acceptable. There are solutions to enhance most things nature bestows. xxx
Slopes off to Google checkatrade.com ...
Haha, I wouldn't make it home in the car if I drove in my reading glasses, and I'm sure you can get all sorts of mirrors and lighting, to make even me look good, well, maybe not, though it's a good thing I have a wonderful partner and the kids look like their mum lol, time for my beauty sleep my friend, it's got to start working soon.
Gilly do you post on a laptop, pad or phone, I use a phone, android, and sending pics is easy, I could run you through how, if you wished. I do a little painting when I get time, xx
Wowee! That's some talent you've got, Eddie! A superb surprise when I opened my phone on waking, and you must be psychic as rabbits/hares are personal to us. I rescued our adored little rabbit from someone who should never have been allowed near animals. Already an adult and in a bad way, we were blessed to have him almost eight years and treat him like the little king he was. Aw, our sweetheart learned to trust and loved us right back, giving us many years of joy.
Righto, I've pulled myself together; I post on my phone, android, and have an inkling how to send photos but am lousy with techy stuff now. I've forgotten more than I knew tbh, so tips would be appreciated my friend. Thank you.
Kettle time and I'm going to show my H your painting when he gets up. I know how much he's going to love it xxx
Hi Everyone, Well we are on our way home from Blue Dolphin, we couldn’t do the journey all in one, so we have stopped off at a Travel Lodge overnight on our way. We stopped at a Premier Inn on our way down.
We had a terrific fortnight in the sun! I would like to welcome our new members to the Forum, I’m sure you won’t regret it. Did you know the people here not only know about cancer but are also great Travel Agents! I live in Scotland and before we left, I had asked the very knowledgeable people here if they had any “must visit” places in the Scarborough/Filey area. I think it may have been Gill who mentioned an Ice Cream Parlour but couldn’t remember the name of it. Almost immediately a few members came back with the name Mr Moo’s in Skipsea. Well it was amazing, thank you so much, we went back the second week with our daughter, husband and two granddaughters who also loved it. We had lunch before our ice cream which is made on the Farm' we also visited ALL the other places we were told about! So Thank You All Very Much!
Apart from no WiFi everything else was terrific and with 12 out of 14 days dry! We could hardly believe it. I also managed to meet a fellow Incurable from here, who drove for over an hour and a half to meet-up. I said to my husband I didn’t think I would drive all that way to spend time with ME! I really appreciated it and he also brought the most amazing, delicious home made scones. A man of many talents!
So how has everyone been? I heard about Ellie! What an amazing woman! I would never be able to read all the Posts done while I was in comunicado so please bring me up to date! Home today to see our grandson! Yippee!!
Love Annette x
Hi Annette. What a wonderful, and thoroughly deserved, time you've had. I'm really pleased for you and the weather was kind too, topped off with a visitor bearing scones - great news! Yes, new members have joined and what lovely people they are - some post in the early hours, so you'll be able to meet them when taking a break from the jigsaws.
Enjoy seeing your family and especially your grandson, who could eagerly be waiting for sticks of rock. Sarah's been on holiday too and should be home shortly. You've brightened up a dodgy day, weather-wise, although the sun's trying to get its oar in between the clouds. I'm made up you've had a terrific time and welcome back.
Hugs, Gill xxx
Awww that's a lovely story, giving him a wonderful life after such an awful start, and for 8 years is amazing. Sadly we all know people who should never have animals, and a few who shouldn't have kids, well Gilly if I hadn't given the picture to a friend on the LWIC forum, I would have gladly given it to you, PS, I give them all away along with the patchwork quilts I make.
Sending pics.
Below the box you type in is the word Paragraph with 5 symbols next to it, click on the middle one, it looks like a mountain, and My Files, will come up. Click on the picture you want to send, I can only send 1 picture at a time, Click on Done, finished xx
Aw thank you so much for the tutorial Eddie. You've made it sound pretty easy so I'm sure a dafty like me can follow it. Unfortunately I don't have many pics in my gallery anymore as my old phone crashed. Try as I might I could only retrieve a few for the new phone but my SiL is an IT whizz so he may be able to do the honours. I'll give it a go later to attach a picture and let you know the result xx
You really are a very kind bloke and you'll get your just rewards, of that I'm certain. You're also talented and the quilt is amazing! I'm going to show my eldest your work next time I see her. She's mighty fine at art too, and music, so will really appreciate your talents. An awful disease brought me here but I've found a host of genuine new friends and I'm so grateful. It's helping me so much through some dark times that are thankfully starting to brighten. Hugs and strength to all xxx
